Giving thanks today to the Giver of all good things.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” James 1:17
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
This morning I read a blog post from author Jody Hedlund (The Preacher’s Bride), about why we (Americans) need to go on a diet.
“Weโve become overweight with our possessions.” With that one sentence she’s managed to put succinctly what’s been weighing on my heart for years about our culture. Consider this my resounding AMEN, Jody.
Happy Thanksgiving, Lori.
Jody's post is excellent!
And to you, too, Keli! God has been so good to us, and we have so much to be thankful for.
Jody managed to put into words what's been stirring around in my soul for more years than I can remember. I've been one to weed out my possessions frequently since I was a child, and I find the over-accumulation of things to be a source of frustration. I always seem to be the only one in my household who feels that way though! ๐
Happy Thanksgiving, my friend! Regarding clean-outs — I've been in the middle of one myself for the last month or so (off-and-on as time has permitted) — I think it is so HEALTHY!
Ruth, hope it was a wonderful day for you (pillows aside!). ๐
