Through celebrating the redemptive power of Jesus Christ in the form of story, I’ve discovered something that touches my heart more deeply than I could have imagined before publication. While I have my conversation with the Lord about the characters, story, and themes during the writing of each book, once that book is in your hands it becomes your turn. To each story you read, you bring everything that makes you individually, irreplaceably you. Therefore my prayer is that through each of my novels our Heavenly Father speaks to your heart something uniquely meant for you. That you turn the final page more in love with our merciful Jesus than when you began.

Two abiding passions fill the pages of Lori’s novels—18th century American history and faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The diverse cultures that collided in the crucibles of settlement, slavery, and war during the Colonial, Revolutionary, and Federal eras of American history provide an endless canvas for the timeless work God renders in the lives of any man or woman who chooses to yield their heart to Him. Through His perfect love, demonstrated on the cross, He set humanity free from sin and all that weighs and constrains: fear, pride, hatred, and rebellion. He transforms broken lives through grace, in relationship with Him day by day—the ultimate love story that begins now and continues for eternity. Lori is blessed beyond measure to write historical novels that share these powerful truths.

Lori’s debut novel Burning Sky received the 2014 Christy Award for First Novel, Historical, and Book of the Year, and was a 2014 ECPA Book of the Year finalist. She is also the author of The Pursuit of Tamsen Littlejohn, an ECPA Book of the Year finalist; Christy finalist The Wood’s Edge; A Flight of Arrows; Christy finalist and 2018 Inspy Award winner Many Sparrows; The King’s Mercy; and the Kindred series: Mountain Laurel and Shiloh.
